walking in a winter wonderland

yesterday it started snowing on the mountains.
this called for a snowshoe. a group of us attempted to go up black mountain.
we made it up to the top, but it wasn't black mountain. not to sure which peak it was. but it was fun none the less. it snowed on our drive down the mountain, and it hasn't stopped since.
SNOW! woohoo! and it's not supposed to turn into rain until thursday. even better.
now, anyone want to go and build a snow person with me? anyone?

it's over!

university that is.
the ceremony went off without any problems. i didn't fall flat on my face in fron of the dean or the president, what's his name.
actually, i didn't even go! ha!!
take that ubc!
instead i went and spent my hard earned money.
it's all good. useful gifts are good. guaranteed they won't sit around never to be touched again.

i leave in 2 weeks.

i'm getting excited.
i get to see my nephew, live.
i have to pack. ugh.
i have to fly. ugh, again.
i don't get to enjoy a typical vancouver christmas...wet!
i don't have to work.
i have to try and get some christmas shopping done. stat.
mostly i'm excited to spend time with my family though.

elias stephan nebel

he was born nov. 11 at about 10.30am.
a good 3.2kg or 7pounds.
and he is the cutest thing ever.
mom and dad are doing well.
both oma's and opa's are very happy and proud.
as am i.
i can't wait to see him and hold him.
maybe a good nap will be in order.

it's official, i have a nephew.
little baby boy was born today, german time.
yooohoooooo!

pott to the ery

i've been taking a pottery class this semester which is sooo fun.
last night was our first night on the wheel which was rather scary.
before i continue, i should say that no, i did not have a patrick swazye/demi moore moment on the wheel.
it was really hard but in the end successful. i'll admit that i had a little help getting the piece of clay doing what i wanted it to do.
i went home after class and i couldn't sleep.
i wanted another damn go at the wheel. and darn it, i want to do it all by myself next time.
oh wheel of pottery, i will conquer you. BWAHAHAH!

the first batch has arrived...

of eggnog that is.
i was at the grocery store today and saw it.
slowly the christmas decorations are making their way into the stores.
christmas shopping has indeed begun.
and the icing is the eggnog.
at least that's one thing i like about christmas, the eggnog.

an interesting point has been brought up as of late?
what's the deal with y being a vowel? anyone know?
i'm not sure why? (teehee!)
should it just be always, or perhaps never? or maybe just remain as sometimes?
any thoughts?

the airport

i have been to the airport 3 times in the last week.
the airport can be fun. i know i can get peach penguin candy at the airport.
the first 2 times were cause a friend was going to be in town for the weekend.
pssst....that's you robin!!
she's funny. and she knows just as much about volov's as i do.
next it was to see my parents off.
i'm jealous. they're in germany with my sister and brother in law and the little one.
i can wait though, i'm going in a month.
the little one is inside the belly. e.t.a 2 or so weeks.
